You Buy

You can rent one or more packrafts and some essential gear such as paddles, helmets, and buoyancy aids at competitive rates.

Collect your rentals from our Christchurch base, or we can courier your needs to you anywhere in New Zealand with a return courier ticket included. Return to our base or via courier to suit.

If you discover that you like packrafting and want to own your own, we will deduct your rental cost from your purchase, up to maximum of $150.

Sizes & Models
Available

Our boats are the larger models and will fit all sizes. Typically from 1.5m to 2 m tall. (5ft to over 6ft 6in). People with shortish legs can request a foot bag.

The packraft models we rent are whitewater capable, and are fitted with comfortable seats and backrests. Thigh braces are not fitted but can be fitted on request to capable paddlers. We have a ranfe of boats with self-bailing and spray skirt models available.

Add a note to your order with your preference and we will do our best to accomodate you.

Lightweight Models

We have lightweight models available for expeditions with heavy loads that don’t have hard rapids.

Doubles

We also rent double packrafts on special rates for extended cruises or family holidays.

A packraft rental includes:

  • A 4-piece lightweight paddle
  • Buoyancy aids chosen for light weight and simplicity
  • Helmets – light but strong

Optional extras:

  • Bow bag – the handiest place to stow your lunch, sun cream and a jacket or hat.
Damage
Policy

It happens.

All equipment hired from us must be returned in good condition. Some wear and tear due to careful use is accepted. Beyons normal wear and tear, you are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any damage to the oackraft or equipment.

We have two options:

  • Not insured. You pay for the repair or replacement. We get our repairs done by a professional, who is both skilled and reasonably priced.
  • Insured. We have an insurance option that you can purchase when you book your packraft rental.

Rent a packraft for the days you will use it.

We don't charge you for the day you collect, or the day you drop off.  Nor do we charge you for the days packrafts are spent in transit by courier.

A weekend trip where you collect your packraft on Friday evening and drop it back Monday morning is a two day hire.
